Welcome to my blog. I am delighted that you are here. I am a recovering corporate sales professional and lifelong fitness enthusiast. I grew up in a bustling and active family with two brothers in Northern California, and I always enjoyed being active and spending time outdoors.


Fitness Instructor/ Health Coach/ Mindfulness Coach/ Yoga Teacher

I have loved sharing fitness through teaching a wide variety of classes since the 1990's. Yes, imagine leg warmers, poofy hair, and lots of bouncing. I am passionate about sharing fitness by teaching a variety of classes. I teach a full schedule of mat Pilates, yoga, sculpting, functional movement, and water fitness. I also seasonally teach SUP and SUP yoga here in the beautiful Sierra Nevada foothills 1.25 hours from South Lake Tahoe.


When Covid hit and all the gyms shut down I really realized how much I enjoyed the face-to-face component of group fitness. It really is a big part of who I am and I get huge amounts of satisfaction seeing other people succeed and crush their goals. In 2021 I completed my ACE Health Coaching certification and have enjoyed the opportunity to work with beautiful humans on making healthy lifestyle changes. After 25 years in the Corporate world, I understood the need for self-care and the consequences of ignoring your health or your relationships.



 

I am passionate about helping women


I am deeply driven by the desire to empower and support women, particularly those in the transformative stage of midlife. This passion is rooted in my own journey, where I once found myself focusing excessively on my career while inadvertently neglecting my essential mental and physical well-being. I've since recognized the profound impact this imbalance had on my life and am committed to ensuring that others don't undergo the same challenges. My mission is to inspire and guide women to prioritize their mental and physical health, fostering a harmonious life where well-being thrives alongside personal and professional achievements.


Throughout my journey, I've been fortunate to collaborate with truly remarkable individuals, each of them exemplifying exceptional productivity and serving as a wellspring of inspiration. Together, we embarked on a transformative path, characterized by a deliberate and gradual adoption of various health-enhancing protocols, all aimed at crafting a life marked by profound well-being and vitality. These experiences have been nothing short of enlightening, demonstrating the incredible potential for positive change when we set our sights on a healthier, more purposeful lifestyle. Witnessing these amazing transformations has reinforced my commitment to guiding others on a similar journey of self-improvement and empowerment.


On the other hand, I have painfully witnessed countless unsuccessful and extremely frustrating health struggles of those around me. Unfortunately, the cycle is the same, restricting diet, losing weight, then going back to their daily lives and gaining all the weight back and then some, and feeling worse than ever about themselves. There is so much shame around the way our bodies look that we ignore the most important aspects of nutrition and healthy movement. Food freedom is truly one of the best feelings ever and I’ll forever be grateful for this mindset.


It is distressing to see the people we love suffer mentally and physically as a result of restrictive diets that have harmed their bodies, hormones, and self-esteem. When women spend so many years in a state of overdieting or hopping from trend to trend, their metabolism slows down. It is my passion to show these women that there is another way to unlock midlife vitality and overcome metabolism challenges.



 

My vision

My vision for this blog is a resource for women looking for healthier choices backed by science. From the Aura ring to the Yuka app, there are so many new technologies out there we can use to measure our progress toward a vibrantly happy and vibrant life. My passion is to help others find peace and joy in their bodies through healthy movement, mindfulness, and learning to love the foods that love us back.


At Conscious with Christina, we provide you with the tools to take control of your well-being and make informed decisions about your health so that you can treat your body with the love and care it deserves.


Combining mindfulness with real science about what our bodies need to be truly nourished from the inside out. You will find inspiration, workout ideas, recipes, healthy lifestyle ideas, and accountability tools. You will also receive tips and tools to help you to implement these tools into your daily lives.


 

Celebrating our bodies

Celebrating my body and what it can do for me has been a much healthier approach to managing my healthy habits. There are many ways to move our bodies that are nourishing instead of punishing.


It's crucial to recognize that the relationship we cultivate with movement can be one of nurturing rather than discipline. Instead of approaching exercise as a form of punishment, we can choose to see it as an opportunity to nourish ourselves holistically.

From brisk walks in nature's embrace to the gentle flow of yoga, from invigorating dance sessions to the tranquility of tai chi, the spectrum of movement modalities beckons us. Each embodies the potential to be a nourishing experience, a mindful union between our bodies and souls. The underlying principle is to move with intention, to savor the sensation of muscles flexing and extending, and to relish the rhythm of breath synchronizing with each motion.


By embracing movement as nourishment, we free ourselves from the confines of rigid exercise routines and calorie-focused motivations. We liberate movement from the connotations of exertion and strain, allowing it to become a celebration of what our bodies can achieve, an avenue to honor their capabilities and capacities.

Approaching movement as a nourishing practice enables us to foster a positive connection with our bodies. It shifts the emphasis from external results to the intrinsic joy of movement itself. This shift can lead to increased consistency, as we're more likely to engage in activities that bring us pleasure and vitality.


Ultimately, the concept of nourishing movement transcends physical benefits. It extends to our mental and emotional well-being, as movement has the power to elevate our mood, reduce stress, and cultivate a sense of mindfulness. It reinforces the idea that our bodies are not machines to be pushed to their limits but vessels to be cared for and respected.
